Last year, following a call from PASA, we supported the Chimfunshi Wildlife Orphanage in Zambia as it was preparing the rescue of several chimpanzees illegally kept in the Central African Republic and South Sudan..

Thanks to the funds provided by several donors, including Palmyre Conservation, the sanctuary was able to renovate its quarantine unit intended to host the newcomers.
The transfer of the animals took longer than expected, but the first three chimpanzees arrived in the sanctuary before the summer. Fidelou, a male of about 6 years old, Aimée Love a female of about 5 years old and Vicky, an adult female of about 11 years old, have now started a long rehabilitation process before they can be integrated with the other chimpanzees rescued and housed at the sanctuary.
